Book your removal:

Certain times of the year are busier than others, so it is important to book your removal well in advance in order to arrange a removal date that is the most suitable for you.

While your removalist will give you more specific and important removal advice, we have listed some basic moving information, which we hope will be of assistance.

Change

Perhaps the most important tip we are going to give you is the most obvious, and usually the most overlooked - Your change of address form. Studies have shown that most people who move, either simply overlook filling out the change of address form, or do so at the very last minute.

All you have to do is go to your local post office and complete a redirection/change of address form.

It is also a good idea to leave a nice card for the new occupants, containing your new address, asking them to forward any mail that may be sent to your old address on to you.

Power, Water, Gas etc:

Next on the list of easily overlooked tasks are our essential services: power, phone, water, gas and cable companies. Some require advance warning for their disconnecting, and turning-on service for both your old and new home; so it is a good idea to contact them at your earliest convenience.

It is equally important to settle any local bills you may have in your old area. Remember to notify other services you may receive such as paper deliveries, lawn mowing services and bottled water deliveries.
